1. Evaluate: After getting your thoughts on what you are wanting, we will evaluate your current deck and frame to understand exactly what you need.

2. Design: We will go over options with different brands and colors of composite decking material, allowing you to choose the best look and fit for your home. 

3. Estimate: After the evaluation and a material choice is complete, we will go to work building a quote. Depending on the size and scope of work we can typically put together some options within three days. The information will be emailed to you, if that is your preference.

We have all high quality brands available – Most composite decking brands come in a variety of designs and colors.

1. Once all the details are finalized and you’re comfortable with the estimate, you approve it, usually through email.

2. Your job is scheduled.

3. Your materials are ordered for delivery.

4. A permit is obtained if required by the city for the repair or replacement of your deck.

5. A dumpster is delivered for disposal of old decking material – this is typically set in your driveway.

6. The material is delivered – Again, typically in your driveway.

7. After the dumpster and materials arrive the demolition of the old deck begins. 

8. Your new composite deck with powder coated railing system is built.

9. We do a final walk through with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied!

Most decks can be completed in a week to ten working days.

All of our decking comes with at least a 25-year manufacturer warranty. We provide a one-year labor and material warranty.

Installing a deck can be a valuable investment for two big reasons.

If the frame of the deck is solid and in good shape, then the best way to restore it is to resurface the deck by replacing all of the old deck boards and railing.

If the frame of the deck is not solid or in good shape, then it too should be replaced before the new surface decking and railing is installed.

There are so many options in composite decking material and railing systems it is tough to give an exact cost. However, it is likely safe to expect approximately $35-$65 per square foot of deck surface.

DIY maintenance. Power wash, sand, and paint or stain your existing deck and rail every year to two years. Composite decking is for those who would rather have the deck installed and be done with it. All the beauty of wood without the maintenance!

Cleaning the Deck

• Power Washing: Start by giving the deck a thorough cleaning using a pressure washer or power washer. This will remove dirt, grime, mildew, and loose wood fibers. Caution: Use the appropriate pressure setting and nozzle to avoid damaging the wood.

• Deck Cleaner: If needed, apply a deck cleaner specifically formulated to remove tough stains and mildew. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully.

Sanding

• Sanding the Surface: Once the deck is dry, sand the entire surface to remove any remaining loose fibers, splinters, and old stain or paint. This will create a smooth surface for the new finish to adhere to.

• Grit Recommendation: Start with a coarser grit sandpaper (e.g., 60-grit) for heavily weathered areas, and then finish with a finer grit (e.g., 120-grit) for a smooth finish.

Inspect and Replace

• Check Deck Screws: Examine all deck screws and replace any that are loose, rusted, or sticking up. Countersink any protruding screws to create a smooth surface.

• Replace Damaged Boards: Inspect the deck boards carefully and replace any that are warped, cracked,or rotten. Use pressure-treated lumber or a rot-resistant wood species for replacements.

• Consider Railings and Posts: If the railings or posts are showing signs of wear, consider replacing them as well. This will give your deck a fresh, updated look.

Choosing a New Look

You have two main options for finishing your revitalized deck:

• Deck Paint: Deck paint provides a solid, opaque finish that completely covers the wood grain. It’s available in various colors and offers good protection against the elements. However, it can be prone to peeling and chipping over time, requiring more frequent maintenance.

• Deck Stain: Deck stain allows the natural wood grain to show through while providing protection. It comes in various opacities, from transparent to semi-transparent to solid. Transparent stains offer the least protection but require the least maintenance, while solid stains provide the most protection but require more upkeep.

Important Note: Regardless of whether you choose paint or stain, applying multiple coats is crucial for adequate protection. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for drying times and recommended number of coats.
